Nubuk is an extruded polyurethane coated material made to look like smooth leather. It is soft to the touch, comes in a variety of colours and is an economical alternative to leather. It can be heat sensitive which means that a hot debossing can change the surface colour to produce a darker contrast. Foilblocking and screen printing are other methods for branding.
